I started Soul Purpose Travel while on a spiritual quest to find my soul’s purpose. After moving to Italy with my boyfriend (now Husband) and noticing the impacts traveling had on my invisible illness (Multiple Sclerosis), I realized I need to be more intentional with planning my Travel Itineraries.
So I did just that. I started planning my travel around my travel priorities and concerns (which typically arise from chronic pain and fatigue). No matter what type of trip I am on, I always consider what my body, soul, and wallet need first and foremost.
Invisible illnesses can impact someone’s life on the daily…even while traveling to the most beautiful destinations in the world. Whether you or someone you are traveling with has an invisible illness or disability, just remember…our symptoms and needs don’t stop for vacation.
Invisible illnesses don’t slow down because you have a flight to catch, or you’re staying at a luxury 5 star hotel on the beach, or you’re going to a prestige Michelin restaurant. It’s always there, so please be gentle with yourself and/or your loved ones who are traveling with these conditions. It’s not always easy, but it can be done. Just remember to make time for yourself, listen to your body, and know your travel non negotiables.
All the Travel Recommendations and stories herein, were experienced while traveling with an invisible illness.
I am grateful to be able to do what I love and navigate the greatest journey of all…life with Invisible Illness. So whether you came to this page for travel tips, invisible illness community, or you want to know more about my story and why I do what I do, I’m glad you are here and I hope this resonates with you.
